Why I Became A Financial Advisor

Why I Became A Financial Advisor

Like many others, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do with my life when I entered college. That changed when I took an investment course as part of my undergrad program. I quickly became fascinated with our markets, behavioral finance, and how investment strategies play into future financial success and security. From there, I devoted myself to helping people use wealth management strategies to add value to their lives, both today and in the future.

The Beginning

After earning my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Citadel and an MBA from the University of Arkansas, I spent over 11 years as a financial advisor and fixed income portfolio manager with Stephens, Inc., 6 years as a vice president and portfolio manager with Merrill Lynch, and 6 years as a portfolio manager and branch manager with Raymond James. Along the way, I earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designations.

In 2007, I founded ClientFirst Wealth Management, a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor and Fiduciary, providing comprehensive financial planning and investment management services based on their unique needs, wants, and long-term goals.

What I Do Today

I am president and senior portfolio manager, serving my valued clients as they pursue their goals in the midst of life’s challenges. I have seen firsthand the incredible impact professional wealth management has on people’s lives, and I want to introduce these services to more and more people so they can experience financial freedom.

Challenges And Victories

Every job has its challenges, and because I care so much about my clients, the hardest part of my job is seeing them experience difficulty in their personal lives, whether that’s through illness, loss of a loved one, or difficult transitions. I feel privileged that my clients trust me to help them through these experiences and manage their finances so they can have peace of mind. There’s nothing more fulfilling than knowing I’m carrying some of their burdens so they don’t have to. I love seeing my clients’ confidence grow and helping them achieve their financial goals so they can live their desired lifestyle without worry.
